Day 60- Gray and Yellow

Another lovely color combo for the spring! Gray  is also a wonderful neutral to pair most colors with. If you are sick and tired of brown (like I am ), purchase a few essential tops in gray and you will use them like crazy. The gray v-neck top is from NY & Co. and I got it for $2.00! The scarf is my sister's and was taken without permission (sorry alex) and the skirt is actually from Talbots. Let me explain before you judge me....Yes, Talbots is an old lady store, but sometimes they have ridiculous deals on their clearance items. Maybe I am crazy, but the label isn't so much important to me as the fabulousness of the piece. The shoes are from Journey's for $5.00 and the earrings are Forever 21 for $2.00. Total Cost = $ 9.00

Day 59- Pinstripe Skirt

I can't believe that I am almost to Day 60, and I am so grateful that we have had consistently warm weather over the last week or two! This skirt is a staple that every girl should have in their wardrobe. While it is a pinstripe, which are typically pretty fancy, this skirt is made out of a cotton material which makes it versatile for a casual or more formal occasion. I purcahsed this from Gap on the clearance rack for $6.00, and the linen ruffle tank from for $2.00 which is another Gap piece. The sandals are Banana Republic for $5.00.I am not sure where the gray and blue necklace is from, but it was a gift from my step-mom several Christmases ago. Total cost = 13.00

Day 58 - Take me out to the ball game dress

Tonight our church went to a baseball game and the weather was PERFECT. Several of my youth group girls made fun of me for wearing a dress to a sports event (apparently people don't do that?). However, I found ONE other woman wearing a skirt, although she was in her 60's, still counts! The dress is actually from a garage sale, but originally H & M for $2.00. The shoes are a steal from Gap for $3.00 and match my magenta scarf that was $2.00. The braided belt from Forever 21 was $3.00 and the earrings are from Charming Charley's for 3.00. Lastly, my mom in law gave me a Vera Bradley braided charm bracelet which I am in love with that matched perfectly. Total cost = $ 13.00.

Day 57- Teal Crochet Skirt

So..... while I am in love with this skirt, It wasn't my most affordable purchase, but it's still wonderful and I am glad I bought it. The skirt is from TJ Maxx, but I am not familiar with the designer (13.99). The shirt is from Forever 21 and was $2.00--Forever 21 is a good place to get your basic cami's and tees as they are usually dirt cheap.  The shoes are from Gabriel Brothers for $7.00 as well as the necklace for $3.00 on clearance. The gold bangle is from Banana for $3.00. Total cost for my MOST expensive outfit yet = 28.99!!!

** Also, you can thank Cory for the picture of Batman, he really wanted to include it on my blog due to his stylish fashion sense.

Day 56- Brown Professional Skirt

This skirt is from Banana Republic and is very well made. I actually think it is part of their professional suit line. It lays really nicely (especially for $.49). I like to wear it if I need to look like I know what I am doing (which I never do). I paired it with a gathered chocolate top from Ann Taylor for $3.00 and a necklace that was given to me by my hubs in college. The taupe high heels are from Rue 21 for $4.00. Total Cost = 7.49

Day 55- Blue/Green Jersey Dress

I chose this dress for a last minute date night with the hubs. It's not super fancy, but it was just a night out at the movies so it was a pretty laid back romantic rendezvous.  I actually found this dress at Kohl's in the 90% off section for $4.00 in an XXL. I took in the sides,  took several inches off the hem and made a cris-cross back. I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I pared the outfit with a braided belt for $3.00 from Forever 21 and made the herringbone scarf for $1.50. The shoes are from Gap and were $3.00 in the clearance section. Total cost = $ 11.50

Day 54 - Polka Dot Party Dress

Oh look! Another navy polka dot dress! I think I may have an obsession....I found this dress online at Forever 21 and purchased it with a gift card. When I got it home, the dress was much too short for me to wear it anywhere so I hopped on over the fabric store and purchased some coordinating fabric for $2.00 and added a hem! The shoes were on clearance at Rue 21 for $4.00, and the bracelet is a vintage repeat from several of my previous blog posts. Total cost for this outfit = $4.00

Day 53- Peach Pleated Polka Dot Dress

This dress can be a little tricky. While it is a lovely color, it can wash a girl out if she doesn't have the right skin tone. It usually looks a bit better when I am not as pasty as I currently am, but hopefully by the end of the summer it won't "blend in" so much to my natural skin tone. The dress is a Lauren Conrad from Kohl's, and I remember paying $8.00 for it on the 80% off rack. The fabulous waterfall pearl necklace is from Forever 21 and was $5.00. These AWESOME shoes are from Charming Charley's and were $4.00. Total Cost = $ 17.00

Day 52- White Crochet Dress

This lovely summer dress was a gift from my sweet mom in law. It is originally from NY & Co., but she got it for cheap at an outlet store due to a broken zipper. The shoes are from that same store (Gabriel Brothers) and were $9.00, as was the aqua bubble necklace that I found for $3.00. While this dress is not form fitting, it has enough detail along the bodice so it doesn't feel boxy. In addition, it's also pretty comfortable and can be worn to a variety of different occasions. The bracelet is vintage and was orginally from my great grandmother's dress shop when she owned it in the 1950's (awesome, I know). Total Cost = $12.00

Day 51- Hot Pink Prom Dress

Cory and I had an AWESOME youth group event last weekend called MORP, which is anti-prom and is open to all middle and high school students. The goal is for all students to feel welcome and apart of the community. Cory even picked up burger king crowns so that all of the kids could be prom king and queens. I found this dress in my closet and decided it was perfect for the occasion. The dress is from NY & Co. and was $3.00 with a broken zipper. I was able to sew up the issue with the zipper and not have to replace the whole thing! The chandelier earrings were a gift several years ago from a friend, so I am not sure where they are from. The shoes are from Forever 21 and were $6.00, while the cardigan is also a NY $ Co for $4.00. Please excuse the final picture, we were going for cheesy :).

Day 50- Damask Floral Ruffle Dress

This is a perfect spring/summer dress and can be worn anytime in the warmer months. It is a lightweight material and lays very nicely. It features a pull tie waistband and a ruffle top around the bust. The dress was a gift from my mother so it doesn't count toward the price, but was purchased from Banana Republic. The cardigan is from Gabriel Brothers for $4.00 and the sandals are from Banana Republic for $4.00. I wore my pearl studs for a simpler look and wore my Vera Wang charm bracelet which was also a gift. The total cost for my outfit = $ 8.00

Day 49- Memorial Day Outfit

I think it's a really good thing that I live in America due to my love for Red, White and Blue. It would just be awkward if I lived in Mexico, considering how much I wear these colors together. Memorial day was a day packed with picnics at our loved ones' houses so I had to wear the perfect outfit. The linen skirt is from Banana Republic and was found with no broken anything for $6.00 about a year ago. The shirt is from the thrift store (originally Eddie Bauer) for $2.00 and while it is hard to tell, there are red accents on the sleeves and the neckline. The gold bangle is from Banana and was $3.00, while the red and gold necklace is from Charming Charley's and was a gift. The shoes are from Payless and were $9.00.

Day 48- Nautical Red Skirt

Hooray! Memorial Day weekend is such a wonderful time to remember all that we have to be thankful for as well as wear adorable America-themed outfits! I chose a polka dot top from Gap for $4.00 and a bright red pencil skirt from Banana Republic which was part of their Mad Men collection. I found the skirt in a clearance section of Banana Republic for $.49 and added a new zipper for a total of $2.49. I paired the outfit with pearl studs that were given to me by my honey and strapped on my trust Banana Republic sandals that were $4.00. Total Cost = $10.49

Day 47- White Presidential Dress

If I became president, I would be really good at it. I would allow puppies to come to work, would get rid of taxes and everyone would love one another. Also, I would wear this dress because it reminds me of politics and power. I found this dress at Banana Republic for $4.00 with a broken zipper and fixed it for a total of $6.00; the bangle is also from Banana for $3.00. The necklace is from Gabriel Brothers and was $4.00, while the wedges were $8.00 also at Gabes. Total cost of my presidential get up: $21.00

Day 46- White and Gray Sheath Dress

Hey Everybody! I used to be a pretty big thrift store fan back in the day. In high school I babysat to make money and was interested in fancy things, so I had to find a way to get them for cheap. I have become so good at spotting different fabrics from different designers, that I can walk down the aisle at a thrift store and immediately spot which fabrics came from which brands. Since high school, I haven not frequented the thrift store as often (they have raised the prices and too many people know about it now). Plus, I can typically find new outfits for just a couple of bucks and they are NEW!

However, one day I happened upon this adorable little dress. I found it at the thrift store, but it's actually a J. Crew dress. If you don't know much about J. Crew, just know that when I make more money I will be shopping there all the time. I found this dress for $5.00, the cascade pearl necklace is from Forever 21 for $5.00 and the shoes are from Journey's for $5.00. The Vera Wang charm bracelet is from my mommy! Put it all together and you have a $15.00 outfit!
